So, sit back, strap on your seatbelt, and join us as we explore the endless possibilities of VR!

VR stands for Virtual Reality. It is a technology that allows users to experience a computer-generated environment as if they were physically present in that environment. In other words, VR is an immersive and interactive experience that simulates a 3D environment and can be experienced through a headset or other devices.

VR technology typically consists of a head-mounted display that covers the eyes and displays a 3D image or video, as well as audio and other sensory feedback. It may also involve additional peripherals, such as hand-held controllers, to allow the user to interact with the virtual environment in a more natural and intuitive way.

VR has a wide range of applications, from gaming and entertainment to education, training, and simulation. It is also being used in fields such as architecture, engineering, and medicine to visualize and test designs, procedures, and treatments in a more immersive and realistic way.

Here's an example table comparing and contrasting different types of VR:

This table highlights the differences between various types of VR technology, including mobile VR, PC VR, standalone VR, augmented reality, and mixed reality. It compares the pros and cons of each technology, such as affordability, portability, graphics quality, and immersion. By comparing and contrasting these different types of VR, you can make an informed decision about which type of VR technology best suits your needs and preferences.

How VR can impact the Emergency Restoration Industry

Virtual Reality (VR) technology is likely to have a significant impact on the emergency restoration field in the future. VR can be used to simulate disaster scenarios and provide hands-on training to emergency restoration professionals, which can help them to prepare for and respond to emergencies more effectively. Additionally, VR can be used to create detailed, interactive models of damaged buildings and structures, which can help restoration professionals to plan and execute restoration projects more efficiently.

In the emergency restoration field, standalone VR systems such as the Oculus Quest are likely to be used. This is because standalone VR systems are wireless and portable, which allows restoration professionals to use them on-site and in real-world environments. Additionally, standalone VR systems are capable of delivering high-quality graphics and processing power, which is essential for creating realistic and immersive simulations of disaster scenarios.

Using VR technology in the emergency restoration field can also reduce the cost and time of training for restoration professionals. Instead of sending teams to different locations for training, VR technology can bring the training experience to them. The simulations and training in VR can help restoration professionals to develop new skills and knowledge required for disaster response and restoration.

In conclusion, VR technology is expected to have a significant impact on the emergency restoration field. With its ability to simulate disaster scenarios, create interactive models, and provide hands-on training, VR technology can help restoration professionals respond more effectively and efficiently to emergencies. Standalone VR systems such as the Oculus Quest are likely to be used due to their portability, high-quality graphics, and processing power.

I tried to embed as the video presented it, and the published to the Web was never an option in my Google Slides, therefore I couldn't do the steps to get the embedding codes.  So I uploaded the link.

Learning about Aero Tool in Adobe Express

The familiarization phase:

When I first open Adobe Aero, it took me some time to familiarize myself with the interface. I noticed that it has a lot of similarities with other Adobe tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator. The main difference is that Aero is focused on creating AR experiences. I immediately started playing with objects and enlargements and rotations.

I didn't feel like I needed to create a complex AR experience right away. So, I started with something a rocket and played with the settings, and configurations and as I learned a little more, then I added more objects.

Using the Tutorials:

Adobe Aero has a lot of tutorials and resources available helped me learn how to use the tool. I took advantage of these resources to learn new techniques and was inspired by what other my daughter's dream to work for NASA one day and be an engineer.

One of the great things about Adobe Aero is that it allows you to import assets from other Adobe tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I did not personally use this tool yet, but learned it in a video.  Experimenting with different assets can help me create a unique and compelling AR experience.

Overall, learning to use Adobe Aero was fun and rewarding experience. With some practice, I think I will be able to create a stunning AR experience for my daughter in no time!

Emotions on Learning AR

Before

So many feelings of joy were shared with my family and friends about learning AR in this week.  Learning thru reading and watching videos was so exciting. My curiosity to learn how it works, what it can be used for, and what kind of experiences can be created with, was optimistic and yet I also had a lot nervousness.

During

As I started to begin creating my first AR experience, I felt a sense of awe as I see the digital creations come to life in the real world. This feeling of awe was incredibly powerful and inspiring. As I started to learn the tools and techniques of AR creation, I felt a sense of satisfaction in my progress and accomplishments. Each small step forward can be rewarding and motivating.

After

Finishing an AR assignment was a significant achievement, especially for me who is new to this technology. I felt a sense of accomplishment and pride in my work even though it is still in draft. I did felt some challenging or stressful situations in this assignment, but now I am motivated and encouraged to continue exploring the technology and taking on new challenges.

ChatGPT Experiences and Prompting Techniques

ChatGPT was crucial in my learning process for this subject.  I feel more and more comfortable on the capabilities of AI and how it assists in the learning process of any subject. I am very satisfied with the results that ChatGPT has offered.
